Anybody recognize that picture? Ughhh...Haha, we did a photoshoot with Lady D a few weeks back. Hometown director turned super director Matt Alonzo will be directing their music video tonight. So you want to be a graphic designer? Well take a look behind the process here at DNA. This was my idea behind the EOS Lounge Expasion Flyer. As you can see by my crude inital sketch (I can't draw for shizzle), it looks like it's ready to be made into a masterpiece. After we get past this really cool concept phase I drum up a rough draft. Check out the entire process after the jump.
(Click to view) This is the rough draft. It then gets approved by the management. At this point it then has to go out to all the agents of the DJ's. In this case, Benji's agent didn't like the fact that he wasn't the sole head liner on Saturday, so we had to make a change. Other minor changes with sponsors, logos, & things of this nature, but this is all expected. The main point is for people to see what the flyer will look like & how everyone will be represented.

After we get all notices of changes, we dress up the flyer, show everyone the changes, and they are all stoked because it transformed in front of their very eyes. Another oversatisfied customer. =P The order of show & tell is very important however because if you dress up the flyer during the rough draft step people will tend to want you to make changes to that and you don't want to have to go back on hours of intricate detailed work, so I always save that for last to save time. Plus it's more of a "bang" when they see it all nice & shiny. Timing is everything.
This flyer took about 10 hours from concept to finish, but those 10 hours someone paid us probably made him a very rich man. Your only worth as much as how much money you can make for someone else. Stay invaluable.

B.Son have been doing the whole ‘casual fabric-structured tailoring’ thing for a minute now. This jacket is fresh. You get that "layered" look all in one piece. It's made primarily of spandex, so you'll get that stretchy feel to it too. Would go well with those Navy Greedy Genius's I just posted. Get this from Context.

I wish I found this last week it was finals week for some of you kiddies out there. Basically this is a 20 lb ball that attaches to your leg and there is a timer that releases the shackle after a certain amount of time. Basically its suppose to leave you in your room and concentrate your mind on studying opposed to getting drunk with your buddies elsewhere. It runs for $115 bucks. Sucks to be you if your wearing this and a natural disaster happens...Or 'Cloverfield' monster attacks your city and your stuck wearing this while trying to run...

As many of you may or may not know, I was in an accident that left me with a broken back, but the worst of the news was that I did not have medical insurance. I am so blessed to have my hometown community, here in beautiful Santa Barbara donate to my cause and I will forever be amazingly grateful. With all the support I received, I am no longer burdened with the costly medical bills. My back feels drastically more stable and I can now walk around quite a bit. Now that I feel better, I want to have a PARTY to raise some MORE money, but not for me this time. :)
Recently, Santa Barbara has gone through some devastating fires that has left many families without a home, it felt only right for me to give BACK (pun intended heh) to those in need. Designed by Toyo Ito, the dragon-shaped 50,000 seat arena is built with 8,844 solar panels that illuminate the track and field with 3,300 lux. This is dope! Someone was crazy enough to put a 20,000 gallon tank filled with leopard sharks, black tip reef sharks, and other marine life all in a nightclub! Talking about swimming with the fishes...Now you can dance with them. You might need a stiff drink to get on this dance floor. But the owners boast that there are four 3 inch acrylic panels placed on top of each other each weighing over a ton. That's a lot of support for your feet.
