La Haine + Funky French Rap For Your Ears

This is a scene from the French movie "La Haine". I was feeling that funky french rap, so I went to go find out who it was by. Doesn't that clip make you want to watch the movie? Why is he pulling a piece out for? Hmm...

A little search goes a long ways these days. Bringing it back to 1995 with this one. This is a remix of Expression Direkt - Mon Esprit Part en Couille. Made especially for the movie since it wasn't released on their cd. Now only if I knew French...

Clae Rollins - Mid Cut Shoe

The mid-cut Rollins model from Clae features a mix of leather and heavy nylon, along with some metal details. The Rollins originated as a hiking shoe and this shoe definitely mixes that trailblazing ruggedness along with a luxary appeal. You can get these kicks in four colors for fall in Grape, Black, Lichen (brown) and Stone. These kicks are priced at $140 right now and can be purchased directly from Clae.

I'm really feeling the simplicity of this shoe. Reminds me of those simple Greedy Genius/aLife stylized kicks.

2009 Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren Roadster 722 S

The Roadster 722 S gets the engine that was offered in last year's 722 Edition—a heavily modified variation of the supercharged 5.4-liter, three-valve V-8. Torque is up from 575 lb-ft in the regular SLR to 605 lb-ft in the 722 S. Speed is accomplished in a mind bending 3.7 seconds from 0 to 62 mph, down 0.1 from the regular SLR roadster, and reported top speed is up 2 to 208 mph.

A stiffer chassis which was lowered by 10 millimeters should help this roadster grip the road. There will be only 150 limited-edition SLR Roadster 722 S models. If European prices are an indication, the premium over the $497,750 SLR Roadster should be about $25,000.

Expressing My Inner Geek ::: Pixel Couch, Jewelry, and Coasters!

Introducing the Pixel Couch by UK designer Cristian Zuzunaga.
It's quite the pretty sight if you ask me. It's fun, colorful, yet...uh "geeky" haha. I'm sure if you had this in your living room it would be a conversation starter. You could make up stories of what the original picture was too!
It is being produced by Danish manufacturer Kvadrat and sold through Moroso.

And now the Pixel Jewelry....

Designers Mike and Maaike used Google's image search to find the world's most exclusive jewelry. They "stole" low-resolution photographs of the jewelry, and had the results printed onto leather.
I'm sure if I saw a girl wearing these, I would take a second look and from a distance you might even think she's wearing an expensive necklace!

And now we have here..... Pixel Coasters...

They come in a stack of 50 layers that are connected in one long sheet (almost 200"). Each pixel can be teared apart so you can make your own shapes and designs. They’re made from a resilient paper fiber that should hold up to the condensation you might get on the bottom of your cup. You can also get them in pink.... if you're in Taiwan because that's the only place you find them as of now.

So yeah... If you love low resolution files or just love PIXELS, I hope you enjoyed these special items. Hey, maybe someone out there has all three of these and already in their own pixel heaven...haha.

Benjamin Verdonck - The Nest

Belgian artist Benjamin Verdonck has taken performance art to a new height with his new installation “The Great Swallow” in Rotterdam, Netherlands. 50 meters above the city square on the side of the 13th floor of the Wenna Tower,Verdonck’s new home is, according Benjamin, constructed of “the crowns of 23 silver birches, two straw bales, one bucket of spit, three bags of sand, twelve buckets of glue, and nineteen cans of polyurethane foam.” Living within the confines of his new nest, the artist has seen a lot of debris fall down to passerbyers at street level including feathers, a giant egg, and vast amounts of bird shit. It is not known how long he will live in the nest or what the artist’s final stunt will be, but it could end with a caravan of ambulances to the ER room.

Testing his luck.
Would you trust that nest?
Going to the bathroom got a lot easier.
Newborn.
He may have gone over the edge with this one.

What I want to know is what kind of permits do you have to pass to be able to make that?

Santogold Joints + Blaqstarr >>> Get Off

If you don't know about Santogold yet...You do now. These are a few of my favorite tracks from her.

Santogold - Shove It

Download

Santogold - You'll Find A Way (Switch & Graeme Sinden Remix)

Download

Santogold - Starstruck

Download

I don't usually check for Blaqstarr, but this is his new joint that's been floating around the internet. It's produced by Diplo & Switch who are known for making killer beats. The "Get Off" definitely has top quality production, but the vocals don't seem to be mastered yet.

Blaqstarr - Get Off (Removed By Request)

**UPDATE**
This track is going to be a banger & I was informed it will be released in Novemeber, so stayed tuned for that.

Sexxxytime on the J'Adore Condor IV & at Chef Karim's

Welcome aboard the J'Adore Condor IV. Where Sexxxytime was being held. DJ Fab started the evening spinning an eclectic mix of music.

Justin Micheals & Eyecandy.

Being rediculously good looking is hard isn't it?

There was a little promiscuous activity going on around starboard.
The Sexxxytime Crew!

Somewhere along the lines somebody threw over a lifepreserver. Who did it?!?! I went to go photograph the deckhand trying to reel it in only to hear the Captain blare out over the microphone "Get that fucking photographer out of there"...Hahaha...I still got the shot.

DJ Vivie Ann whom described her set as "Choose Your Own Adventure".
Imported from France.

A sight from the J'Adore Condor IV as we were heading off to sea.

Once we landed back at Sea Landing we headed over to Chef Karims for a buffet and caberea show. The food was superb by the way. Some of the best brocolli I had ever had in my life.

The ladies starting their show.

Nicole hitting the matrix.

I can't even comment on this...All I can say is...Wow...

Another satisfied customer.

I had to grab a shot of the Captain of Sexxxytime (George) & Vivie Ann, so we went searching for her everywhere. I caught these two ladies during a ciaggerette break. We searched the entire Chef Karims & even went up to Soho without finding the ever elusive DJ. We were just about to head out when people come running up to us letting us know that she was here!

Alas the photo we were waiting for.

I had a great time at Sexxxytime and I was working! George & Erica definately know how to throw a party. Just working on these photos made me smile. I can't really explain why. Maybe it's because I can't complain...Ever...This is my job...Capturing perhaps, what is, some of the best moments of peoples lives...Haha...It trips me out sometimes.

To view the entire set visit DNAEvents.com and head over to the Sexxxytime Gallery.

New York & Waterfalls?

Normally, New York City residents yearning for a glimpse of a waterfall had to head upstate to Niagara. Now the trip is as close as the New York Harbor. As of this morning, four massive waterfalls created by 41-year-old Danish-Icelandic artist OLAFUR ELIASSON went into commission there, churning 35,000 gallons of East River water per minute over their manmade precipices. Following in the footsteps of conceptual art grandstander Christo who draped Central Park in yellow fabric in 2005, Eliasson sought to create an elaborate spectacle with the installation, officially titled “New York City Waterfalls,” and in the eyes of NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg, it’s bound to be a cash cow: “We estimate that the project will generate more than $55 million in economic activity for our city,” he announced this morning at the falls’ dedication ceremony. At a cost of $15.5 million (the majority of funds came from private donors, the city ponied up $2 million), that’s not a bad return on investment if ol’ Bloomie is correct in his estimation that “tens of thousands” of tourists will flock to the city to get a glimpse of Eliasson’s aesthetically spare constructions (water’s always beautiful, but the mechanisms resemble little more than elaborate scaffolding).

The waterfalls are at Pier 35 in Manhattan, near South and Rutgers Streets north of the Manhattan Bridge; at the Brooklyn tower of the Brooklyn Bridge; Piers 4 and 5 in Brooklyn, west of the Brooklyn Heights Promenade; and on the north shore of Governors Island. They will be turned on every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., except on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when they will be activated at 9 a.m. After sunset, the waterfalls will be lighted by light-emitting diodes. To facilitate viewing, a temporary park has been specially created on Pier 1 (the site of the future Brooklyn Bridge Park). In a nod to current gas prices, the city’s Department of Transportation, in collaboration with the Public Art Fund, has also created a bike route around the project.
Making the impossible. Possible.

Mt. Davidson Cross::: San Francisco

Look at how small I am compared to this cross. If your ever in San Francisco you should check it out. You'll see it from far distances. Its near the city college in SF. Just follow the hill then you'll hike a little ways up there. Its worth the view. But I couldn't take pics of the view or see it this time because construction was going on. Perfect timing, eh? Here is your history lesson for today.
The Mt. Davidson Cross was designed and built by George Keiham and inaugurated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1934.
In 1997, the Citizens of San Francisco voted to approve the sale of the monument to the Council of Armenian-American Organizations of Northern California, to preserve it as a historic landmark.
This revered site is cared for in memory of the 1,500,000 victims of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by the Turkish government from 1915 to 1923.
Over half of the Armenian population on its ancient homeland was killed, and no Armenian community remained in historical western Armenia.
"By honoring those lost, we honor all victims of injustice and cruelty. In their name we dedicate ourselves to the protection of human rights and the dignity of all peoples."

Since I couldn't get a picture of a nice view from Mt. Davidson, I went to Turtle Hill. A hill located in the Sunset district of San Francisco. You get a pretty nice view of things from up there. Check it out.
